MCP for RAD Studio
Advantages
MCP Server directly within the running Delphi IDE
Accessible via HTTP by default
Integration with Project-ToDos for task-oriented AI work
the Powerful Expansion
MCP for RAD Studio connects AI agents to the Delphi IDE. Through the Model Context Protocol, AI assistants can inspect and control the IDE via HTTP in a controlled manner using external AI tools—for example, to read and write
source code, analyze projects, translate code, or manage modules.
This transforms AI from a simple chat tool into a productive assistant for Delphi RAD Studio.
Kai is the AI assistant in RAD Studio. The Delphi MCP extends Kai with additional tools for the Form Designer, the Object Inspector, the Debugger, and the running application. Same assistant, same interface—and a toolbox that spans the entire IDE.
MCP for RAD integrates an MCP server directly into the Delphi IDE.
MCP for RAD provides AI systems with controlled, IDE-integrated access to Delphi projects.
Kai can only perform well if it has the right context.
MCP for RAD makes this context available:
Project structure, source code, IDE information, designer data, to-dos, and
notifications are provided via defined endpoints. This ensures that AI support
does not become an insecure file system scraping process, but rather an integrated development feature.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the open standard that AI assistants use to interact with external tools—and Kai supports it. The MCP for RAD is an MCP server that runs directly within RAD Studio as a plugin. Kai connects to a local endpoint, giving it access to around 120 tools: from the editor, project management, and form designer to the debugger, database access, and the running application.
The MCP for RAD doesn’t just provide Kai with additional information about your project. It enables Kai to take action—compiling, debugging, interacting with, and testing.
MCP for RAD connects Delphi with modern AI workflows. The integrated MCP server opens the
Delphi IDE in a controlled manner for AI assistants. Instead of just reading files, Kai gains access to real
IDE context: projects, source code, designer information, tasks, and notifications. This
makes AI support for Delphi practically usable—right within RAD Studio.
Plug-In for Delphi RAD Studio 13
The Delphi MCP accepts connections exclusively from your own computer. You decide in your AI client which tools Kai uses—and what information it is allowed to access. The MCP for RAD itself does not send any data externally.
The SBOM module automatically generates a Software Bill of Materials in CycloneDX 1.6 format for Delphi projects. It identifies packages, modules, runtime DLLs, and other components based on build and map information. Additionally, it offers IDE views, a graphical SBOM editor, virtual SBOMs, global configuration lists, and CLI tools for CI/CD.
Project To-Dos integrate development tasks into the project. Instead of losing track of tasks in separate systems, the plugin saves them directly in the project folder. Each task can be recorded in a structured manner, documented in detail, and versioned along with the code. This ensures that planning, implementation, and technical details remain closely linked.
AutoReload keeps the IDE context up to date. This helper plugin monitors project changes and
supports the reloading of modified project states. It is not a standalone main module, but rather a practical productivity tool within the MSys Tool Suite.
